Grim Findings Beneath Shimao’s Pyramid in China
Shimao, nestled by China’s Great Wall, houses a Bronze Age settlement marked by its unique stepped pyramid. This historical site became the center of a dark discovery when scientists unearthed six pits filled with remnants beneath the structure.
A chilling cache of human skulls was discovered within these pits, identified as the remains of eighty young girls believed to have been sacrificial victims. The purpose of these sacrifices, whether as funeral rites or offerings to the deity Hebo, remains a mystery.
