In case you want any proof that the 80s and 90s were a different time, look no further than this picture. In the 1980s, someone had the idea to advertise raisins with a commercial featuring claymation raisins singing “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.”
And shockingly, the commercial was wildly popular—so much so that not only did they continue using this wrinkly band to advertise raisins, but there were primetime TV specials, a TV show, and no less than four studio albums. Can you imagine people today being so supportive of poorly animated raisins?
