#4: Single-Use Plastics
Plastic became widespread in the 1960s and 70s. It’s cheap, easy to make, and versatile. What’s not to love? Well, there’s a lot not to love about single-use plastics. So many plastic products have flooded the market, leading to mass pollution and microplastics in our water. It’s not great, to say the least.
It’s become more popular to reduce the use of plastics in our everyday lives. However, plastic is still widespread. It’s almost like we’ve gone too far and can’t turn the tide. Hopefully, the future will be filled with less single-use plastic and more eco-friendly materials. Many young people have major anxiety about climate change, so we still have a chance for things to change.
