#33: Being Able to Tell Someone’s Age
Plastic surgery, Botox, and lip fillers have become extremely common these days. Even a few years ago, it was assumed that these age-defying procedures were for older people who feared aging. However, more and more young people are doing these procedures, even though they don’t have wrinkles or age spots.
This trend of erasing all signs of aging could go one of two ways. It either goes out of style and we look back at these procedures in shock, or they become even more normalized. Some people are sure that Botox and cosmetic surgeries will become the norm among the upper and middle classes. It’s kind of freaky to think that in the future, the appearance of wrinkles could become an indicator of social status.
