Ho, Ho, Ho: The Wholesome, Inappropriate and Wild Requests Mall Santas Have Heard from Kids

There are certain things that happen to us as kids that we will never forget. For better or for worse, these events become core memories. This storyteller has an unfortunate core memory involving a lawn mower and Santa Claus. When they were five, they really wanted a lawn mower. They idolized their dad and wanted a lawn mower just like his.

For whatever reason, the mall that was hosting this Santa thought it was a good idea to broadcast every kid’s list to the entire mall. Our five-year-old storyteller said they wanted a lawn mower into the microphone, and all the adults started laughing. Of course, we know they were laughing because it was a cute moment. But our storyteller can still hear their laughs echoing in their head to this day.
