#40: The Inside of a Credit Card
We all use credit and debit cards these days. Chip reader technology has come out in recent years, replacing the previous magstripe on the back of cards. But do we actually know how they work? Credit and debit cards come with shiny designs and smooth exteriors, but someone was curious to find out what was underneath.
This person managed to strip away the outside of an old credit card to reveal what was inside. It looks like a giant microchip if you ask us. Do we know exactly how this technology works? No! But it sure looks cool. Who knows what kind of technology will come along to replace chip readers in the near future? Credit cards might look a lot different in a few years.
