#47: Not Up to Speed
As consumers, we might have too much faith in quality control. Many people love to buy or lease new, expensive cars. They figure that the big price tag ensures top quality. The thing is, most cars that go through QC barely get checked out. Factory employees are pressured to meet certain numbers and quotas, so their final check of a car is pretty quick.
Most QC checks don’t actually check to verify parts and make sure everything is in working order. Employees probably figured if the car made it that far down the line, it must be fine. This oversight must be how recalls seem to happen on a regular basis.
