#38: Using the Leftovers
Most of us assume that “upscale” supermarkets have better quality food, right? We sure hope they do since they charge an arm and a leg. However, a former employee of an upscale market revealed that the meat and seafood isn’t as fresh as shoppers might think.
They were required to repurpose meat and seafood that was about to expire. Employees would either cook the meat up as “free samples” or mix the raw goods up with seasoning to repackage it as a “new” product. Hey, as long as the food wasn’t rotten, we don’t see a problem! But we get if this job secret grosses some people out.
