#18: Out of Scale
This packaging isn’t necessarily misleading, but it’s a good example of why shoppers need to pay attention. This giant box advertises 18 Snickers candy bars inside. It’s a visually astounding product because the box is over-the-top huge. However, you quickly discover half the box is stuffed with cardboard. This is a little disappointing because most people probably buy this product as a gift.
Sure, the shopper still technically receives 18 full-size Snickers bars. However, most shoppers probably assume they’re buying a giant box full of candy. While the packaging doesn’t technically lie about what’s inside, it’s misleading. Different people probably have differing opinions about this misleading packaging. What do you think?
