#16: The Cream of the Crop
Despite its popularity with the masses, the selection process for football is extremely exclusive and rigorous. Part of the appeal of college football is the chance to cheer on a player before they make it big in the NFL. But even if a player makes it to a top college football team, there’s no guarantee that they will be drafted into the NFL.
Only about 1.6% of NCAA football players make it past the college level and move on to play on a professional team. There are over 15,000 college football players in Division One, but the NFL usually only has about 1600 players any given season. We’re not very good at math, but we can tell those odds aren’t great. Despite the odds, watching college football players do their best is still a thrilling experience.
