The Biggest Lie
“Money can’t buy happiness” is a phrase we’ve all heard, but whether or not it’s true is a matter of some debate. On the one hand, it’s absolutely possible to have a lot of money and be miserable; for instance, there’s a weirdly high rate of lottery winners who commit suicide, finding that the financial windfall made their life worse, not better.

But money can be used to pay for things and experiences that bring you joy, and I bet that someone who is working three jobs just to make ends meet would be really happy if their financial situation improved. Maybe it would be better to say, “Money can but doesn’t always buy happiness.”
