40 Questionable Design Choices That Would Be Way, Way Too Hard to Clean

The aesthetic of this wood block wall is very clean and impressive (aside from looking a bit like a Minecraft texture gone wrong), but we’re not sure how long it’s going to stay that way. This is the same problem that the textured backsplash had – it looks great until you’re desperately trying to scrub down the restaurant at closing to clean up after all the guests (especially kids, who like to fling food at the walls).

What’s ridiculous about this particular design is that the wood they’ve used doesn’t seem to be finished, varnished, or sealed. That’s going to cause a lot of problems on its own; can you imagine what might start growing in that wood after a high-humidity day or a round of particularly steaming food
